What Claude Code can answer
“Did the checkout funnel regress after Tuesday's deploy?”
Pulls funnel.create on signup → checkout → purchase across the 7 days before and 3 days after the deploy. Returns the per-step deltas with a confidence note when the sample is too small to be conclusive.
“What broke on /pricing yesterday? Engagement halved.”
Cross-references traffic.timeseries, errors.timeline, and pages.engagement. Surfaces a 14% bounce-rate spike correlated with a JS error introduced in the most recent client bundle.
“Show me the revenue split by acquisition channel for last month.”
Runs revenue.sum grouped by utm_source. Returns the breakdown with what's grown and what's shrunk vs the prior month.
“Which event names did I forget to declare in event-schema.yaml?”
Calls events.observed_schema, diffs against your local YAML, and writes the missing definitions inline. Catches schema drift between the code that fires events and the schema that types them.

Ship the fix and answer the impact question in the same conversation
The reason this matters more for Claude Code than a chat-only client: when you ask Claude Code to fix a regression, the question "did this actually move the metric?" is the obvious follow-up. Without a live analytics connection, Claude Code can write the fix but has to guess at the impact. With Clamp connected, it runs the funnel query, shows you the per-step delta, and either confirms the fix worked or surfaces what's still broken.
FAQ
Does Claude Code see all my analytics data?
Only what your dashboard role allows, scoped to the single project you connected. Read-only by default. You can revoke the connection from the dashboard at any time.
Does this cost extra?
No. The MCP connection is included on every tier including Free. There's no per-query cap on what Claude Code can ask.
What about PII?
Clamp rejects email-shaped strings server-side, IP addresses are discarded after country lookup, and the MCP returns aggregated metrics by default. Single-user session history respects the same redaction rules as the dashboard.
Can I use Claude Code on a project that already has another analytics tool?
Yes. Install @clamp-sh/analytics alongside your existing analytics — nothing breaks. You can run both for a few weeks while you verify parity.
